Its not just one thing

If the world was empty and if I could have one gift

I’d ask for music and then just listen as I drift

I’d go from anywhere to everywhere with lyrics by my side

Through a world of void and solitude it would be my only guide.

Music’s been a guardian keeping me safe while I am terrified

Music’s been a hearth keeping me warm from the harsh outside

Its been a friend, a sword and a specter

Its been good its been bad, its been happy and sad, a angelic protector

Sometimes it can be cruel since it doesn’t lie or use a false face

It’ll tell you the truth with its scars and its etchings that cant be erased

But then it’s a memory, a fantasy, destiny, a moment of ecstasy

Its just like its own world fresh and clean and just off the assembly

Its fear its love its joy and its hate

Its comfort creativity and look into fate

It turns back time to a day long gone

It shows a past dusk a bright noon and a hopeful dawn

Dreams wishes hopes and ambition

A song’s pretty cheap when you consider the price of admission

Its can be anything you need it to be, want it to be, beg it to be

And all you need to do is open your eyes to try and see

And so with all of this following me as I roam

Tell me how could I ever really be alone?
