It's Not Just Poetry

People mistake my sadness for poetry,

But what they don’t realize is,

It’s just my soul bursting from me.

My mistakes,

My heartaches,

My life,

My strife.

I write them all out,

Changing names and what it’s really about.

Most of my writings are nothing but fiction,

I like a story that leaves the reader with mental confliction.

How does it make you feel?

As if it’s real?

Does it make you cry?

Or want to die?

Does it make you mad?

Or even oddly glad?

Is it disturbing?

Or do you feel not a thing?

People mistake my sadness for poetry,

But they don’t realize what it really means to me.
