It's Not Me, It's You

I didn't want to say this But it's not me, it's you. Not that you did anything wrong, But you're badly beaten and bruised. Your heart means well But your wounds are open. You look to me And you expect me to close them. If I could I would, But the scars are on your mind, And you've built a wall That I cannot climb. It hurts to say I love you Because I wish you could love me. Now I have to go before I'm broken, And so your heart can be set free. I hate to say it, But I believe it's best. Just because I say goodbye It doesn't mean I love you less. I didn't want to say this, But it's not me, It's you. I don't feel your heart here, So this is the best I know to do.
