It's not my Job to Interfere
As a nurse I see a lot of things
Some things I wanna see some things I don’t
But whatever at the end of the day it’s just my job can’t change anything about it,
But sometimes I wish I could
But no one really talks about the bad side of the healthcare industry
It’s ups and downs,
Flaws.
Honestly,
Some of the things I see are really painful.
So you know I just direct them to the doctor inject the shots, do all the basic stuff.
It’s my job to check the patients basic stuff, care for them,
And then I leave the diagnostic stuff to the doctors
I don’t get to know much about the patients I see
But again I don’t need to know much, my life is already busy as is.
I got my own bills to pay, I have a husband
who is a whole new set of problems.
It’s only my first year as a nurse.
See so usually I don’t interfere.
But medical insurance is a need.
Because without it it’s a matter of life or death,
and I watched as that little girl fell into a coma.
I thought to myself, I became a nurse so that I could help people
So that I could save people.
Then why is someone dying in front of me and I can’t do anything about it.
It’s not my job to interfere,
The healthcare system has disappointed us all,
Not every family has the luxury of being able to dial 911
Sometimes I wish I could do things that weren’t allowed in my job.
But I have to remind myself of my place.
I’m just the nurse.
