It's Not Supposed to Rhyme.
I am broken, shattered
My body on the ground
Bloody and beat;
I am punished, pained
Myself is the one who hurts
I am the one who's hurting.
I am clean.
On the outside only;
Dead within seconds.
My security, failing,
My airlock, unwinding.
I am spiraled
Stuck inside myself;
Wrestling with my conscience;
Losing to my invisible foe.
I am frightened.
Scared of being;
Terrified if I unlock,
Terrified if I let go.
I am pale, unbreathing.
My heart no longer beating;
My breath no longer there.
I just...am.
I simply be, walking among a crowd of ghosts;
Yet I am the spirit.
I am contaminated, sick;
Contagious to the touch;
My body, a ticking time bomb.
I am floating
Above the surface;
Looking in from afar;
Through a haze of despair.
I am drowning
Screaming, though no one can hear;
I am quiet
My voice, caught;
Scratched and broken;
Silenced.
Uninvited, unwelcome
I am ripped apart
And pieced together
Though my pattern is wrong
My blueprint unfinished.
My blueprint, diminished.
