It's official now

Proverbs 16:18 New English Translation (NET Bible)

18 Pride goes before destruction,
and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 29:23 New English Translation (NET Bible)

23 A person’s pride will bring him low,
but one who has a lowly spirit will gain honor.

Satire

Well it is official now I am the least one in the pack

Not an appointed place but really self-chosen

Makes me feel mighty fine having humility in a sack

Hoping to be noticed by the rest of the frozen

I wave at everyone quietly as they watch my parade

They all came out for me to grant me a place of honor

Hereupon my throne judging the ones who’re late

To enjoy the spectacle that no one can take from us

Even the poor and needy are bowing at my feet

I throw them some crumbs for my self-satisfaction

I need to move on to where I want to be

And leave these folk behind with their own imperfection
