It's ok to feel

It's ok to feel

It's ok to cry

It's ok to talk about the time a loved one died

Say what you need

Speak with your heart

Skip lines so things don't fall apart

What you want

Who you are

Why, the things I've learned in every bar

Poetry took my hand

Taught me to walk

She even shined the light for when everything else got dark

So let's let go

Sweetheart, come with me

So I can teach to you what poetry taught to me.
