It's okay

Don’t worry
They’re with you.

You might miss them
so much
and not be able to see them physically
but
they’re with you
they see you
they know
they know you miss them
they know you wish they were with you
with everyone
and that’s okay.
It’s okay to feel alone

confused

depressed

angry at the world

because we all miss someone
miss someone who isn’t with us anymore
someone who we can’t see smile one more time
laugh with one more time
hug one more time
talk to one more time
say “i love you” to one more time
and it sucks,

but they are okay
they’re really okay
and they want you to know that.
They don’t want you to spend your life sad over theirs
they want you to go out
clear your mind

have fun
live your life

because they can’t live theirs,

and that’s okay.

I created this poem because last year, my junior year, I lost 4 friends in a car accident. It made going to school, practice, games, and more so hard. I didn't want to do anything or go anywhere because I was scared to live my life and be happy knowing they weren't here and that others were suffering because they were gone. Then I realized they wouldn't want me or anyone they loved and knew to live like this. So one night when I was thinking about them I created this. Not just for me but for people who felt the same about someone they lost.
