It's Over
We're off
signaled by a man with a gun,
we move as one
and for a mere second
we look as if we are one
but we separate.
It's only been seconds
since the beginning
and already I feel the earth
beneath my feet.
I feel the wind
as it flows through my hair,
as it flows around me.
I feel the adrenaline
pumping trough my veins
step after step.
I can already feel it,
sweat trickling down my spine,
trying to cool off my body,
that it once was apart of.
panic rest in the back of my mind
waiting for an opportunity
to show its self to the world.
I won't let it
I can't
and I won't.
I have to get my mind off of i.
It's strange
chasing after people
while being chased down yourself,
what if they catch me?
panic sets in,
I can't go on
I can't...
In the distance I hear it,
what is this word,
that gives me the power,
the power to not only carry on,
but the power to defeat it,
the panic inside me.
What is this word
and it comes from the mouth of
my mother.
Where did she come from?
How long has she been here?
I surly would of saw her,
but it wasn't only her.
People surrounded me,
they scream and yell,
they gave me the power.
One,
two,
three,
there's no one i can't chase down.
I feel it,
the earth beneath my feat,
the wind in my hair,
the adrenaline in my veins.
My heart is about to explode,
I'm getting tunnel vision,
the screams around me fade.
As everything focuses on finishing,
this state if mind is lonely.
It's over.
As soon as it started
it's over.
I can't believe it
it's over.
Its all over...
