My sunlight,

you bring the daytime smiles

and keep them from slipping.

One table for two.

We wake from slumber

in a café of our own,

settled in the heat of blankets

and last night’s passion.

You hold my hand at breakfast.

I fill cups with tea

and hold yours, too.

To myself in silence

I hope you never stop shining.
