It's Raining in the Village, Again
I felt comfortable in my own home.
It's raining in the Village, again.
For the first time, I didn't feel alone.
It's raining in the Village, again.
I felt my blood flow warm.
It's raining in the Village, again.
You held my arm through the storm.
It's raining in the Village, again.
It will always rain in paradise,
It will always hail in Heaven,
It will always burn in Babylon,
There's chains around the gates of Eden.
I gained the wealth from which I breathe.
It's raining in the Village, again.
I gave my clothes to those in need.
It's raining in the Village, again.
I found my voice in truth remained.
It's raining in the Village, again.
I loved and knew they felt the same.
It's raining in the Village, again.
There is no cleanse beneath the skyline,
There is no happiness eternal,
Even when your flesh is shining,
The feeling is only momentary.
Underneath the marble arches,
You can take shelter from the rain.
The park is drenched, blue and toxic,
The fountain of stone continues the same.
There is no respite,
Become acceptance,
Embrace the showers,
Embrace your hatred.
Fall in the fountain,
Fall in the fountain,
The rain comes easier
when you're the one to harness.
Become your thunder,
Sleep with the lightning,
Befriend the gutter,
Become your captor,
The pain dies faster.
