It's Time

(poems go here) I think it’s about time to throw it away. I should have done it a long time ago But I was hesitant because I figured As soon as I did, it would be needed again. Not like it was used much anyway, as a matter of fact I can count the number of times it was used: Once was circumstantial; a horrible thunderstorm trapped you at my place. Twice was the result of a quarrel, after understanding the agreement that was misunderstood. And the third and last time was by surprisal, like Tim McGraw and Nelly collaborating, no one saw that Coming! But due to recent circumstances, it will never be used again. So every morning and night, when I reach for mine I see what was once theirs and I ask myself “When are you going to throw that thing away?” See I don’t want to because it’ll mean I’ll be throwing away us and how we were, Yet at the same time, the key word is “were”, not at all resembling how we are now. I think it’s about time to throw it away. Throw away the hoping that one day just one day things will, even may , Go back to the way they were. But there’s no going back, just going forward. And in order to go forward, I feel that it’s time to throw the toothbrush out.
