It's Time To Go
Some say love is pure and everlasting
But is it really?
Love can easily shine through the eyes of a lover
But it hardly lasts
Soon the love will vanish into nothing more but hate and deception
Becoming a deadly game instead
The sting of the slap he delivers upon her cheek
The words he uses to degrade her worth
The bruises he creates that she claim to others was nothing at all
His temper as malicious as a demon’s nature
His raucous bacchanalian nights that occur far too often
His beady bloodshot gaze roving over you
His rough ways too much for you to handle
The “accidents”
The reoccurring hospital visits
The “accidental” tripping down the stairs
The concussion
The broken arm
It’s time for her to leave
The confusion of wanting to stay and wanting to go
The fear of him finding her
The terror that staying would bring
But the freedom of what leaving will bring
It’s time to leave
It’s time to go
