It's today huh?

I'd look forward to holidays every year.

They were the only days I'd feel a certain happiness.

Not to forget birthdays of course.

The gaeity I'd feel on those days were immeasurable.

Christmas brought new toys. Halloween gave me a surplus of candy.

Birthdays allowed me to see friends over the summer.

However as I grew older, the eagerness loosened.

As I learned about the ugly side of society, the memories and feelings were pushed back.

All I could look forward to were moments of peace.

Funny to think I used to place so much importance on those days.

So when I see them approach on my calendar,

I think back.
