It's Winter in Spring Pt.2

Your smile is as bright as the sun

The moon

The stars in the milky way

And the man made fixtures in this building

The gap you display for the world to see

Is your confidence

And the Rated R wisdom

You have shared build strength in me

My personality

My values

My uniqueness

My individuality

And now that you are gone,

I was spiritually lost

No lie

But I did not make a home in that darkness

Because you taught me that death is part of life

Conflict is a part of life

And giving life is a part of life

One must know that happiness is a part of life

But pain is the fraternal twin of content

And we are all going to ride that wave

I am who I am

A black, independent, humorous, wise, female

From a shy little girl, to a more outgoing woman

I found my confidence

I found my purpose

And I have found my talent

Through the physical struggle, to the court hearings, you were there

Supporting me when I am down

Dying inside

Crying inside,

Bleeding inside, while the sorrows in my eyes shown

You knew something was wrong with me

You knew when I was disturbed

And you you did not ignore my silent cries

My constant inaudible yells

You did not let me drown in my own blood,

Pain, sorrows, guilt, and anger

On the edge of a cliff, you held me up

Kept me together

And influence my spiritual structure

Yeah, my childhood may have been stripped

May have a dent or two in the bumper,

But you perserved my teen years

You were the wrong person to go

But you are highly great for this world

For this horrific, ungrateful society

This is my second time writing about you,

You are so memorable, quite a character really

A superb daughter

Sister

Mother

Wife

Auntie

And most of all, a grandmother

The best caregiver, persisted through fatigue and stress

You were the one that I needed to fill the hole in my life

Dear Dakota, I am sorry it took me 16 years to realize that you were my role model

When the corners of your mouth rises, you created a legacy

Every hurdle that you persisted over,

You found a way to beam from ear to ear

I will never forget that

Winter’s smile
