IT’S BACK

You’re like the shadow of the fan

Flickering ever-so-slightly on the ceiling

Your movements are subtle and fleeting

Making your intentions unknown yet sealing

Your footsteps droning in the background

The pitter-patter dull and persistent

I can’t help but wonder

Why is the agony so constant?

You’ve been there despite my progress

Dedicated to eliminate it from my conscience

This is driving force behind my existence

Don’t know whether to embrace or descend

A familiar friend and enemy that I live with

Hunkered in the darkest depths of my mind

Should I let you out to die or to thrive?

Do I have a choice or is it a matter of time?
