It’s Not About Why I Write, But Who I Write For.

I had a dream like Martin Luther King, that I could change the world

But with the power of words.

To transpire and show, how the pen could change a man

So I sat and I wrote, and I told a story, the story of all humans

And it sat in a folder and it turned to dust.

No one knew of the word, and no one changed

I put down my pen and realized, if no one heard

No one could change

Word on paper lacked a little power, but spoken word, could inspire

All those people that created change, all spoke the word of power

The power to change and become anew

Grow a little

They told the people, that it was time.

Time to stand and be your own individual

To talk to some others and create new rituals,

New traditions.

It made sense. To speak the word.

I wanted to make people listen, I wanted them to change

To create something more for themselves, for the new people coming to the world.

Don’t we deserve something more?

Something better, than mediocre…

I was writing for them, the people that needed to understand

And for those who just needed to shut up and listen

I still have that dream.

Words, will change the world
