It’s not in the Cards for Me

Sitting against a stone cold wall, Thinking about people who have it all. The looks, the brains… and don’t forget the money. Me have it someday? Ha, that’s funny. It’s not in the cards for me. Everyone plans on finding their true love; Forever alone is pretty unheard of. But my soul seems to possess the incompatibility to come together in mutual tranquility . It’s not in the cards for me. At least I have a relationship with my parents that is going strong. Right? No, sorry, that’s WRONG. Not like that’s surprising, because even if I plea, Nobody will ever want someone who is just like me. It’s not in the cards for me. … Do you know how the thought of me getting adopted sounded? Let’s just say, I was utterly astounded. Actually have branches in my family tree? That can’t be possible; I might actually become happy. It’s not in the cards for me. New house, new city, new school, new state. Now I definitely have zero chances of ever getting a date. I can’t help but notice this boy staring at- was that a wink? No… couldn’t have been. Must have been a blink. It’s not in the cards for me. I knew I’d have to face them again soon –tests. It was like torture in the form of a contest. While peering over shoulders, my teacher slams down an A. That grade for me, there’s no way. It’s not in the cards for me. … Years later, here’s where I stand: Great house, beautiful family, and all bad thoughts have been banned. Crazy to realize all of this has been God’s master plan. Trust me when I say, have faith in the big man. It’s… been in the cards all along.
