It’s Okay

Life is complicated,

it may go up....but always comes down.

This is how I thought,

’til poetry stole my frown.

Always sad,

wanting the pain and whispers to leave me be.

Always mad,

to many emotions bottled in....can’t I just be me?

One day I had wondered,

if I wrote about the pain, “would it heal?”

With just pen and paper,

I gained confidence to give my spiel.

Stanza by stanza,

line by line.

My emotions poured onto the page,

And my mind was mine.

With the last word...I learned my lesson,

that it was okay.

Only by owning my emotions,

can I make it through the day.
