I've Come to Find

Dearest Sally, Ive come to find that my world is dying I've noticed that there is only so much trying You see I am quite poor for an American But not as poor as a homeless man Screaming at Tucans I still have dreams I still have plans I've come to find that tears out number smiles Quite a hard thing to do and it's been awhile Many have stood by and let things be Well now things are at their door And they're hungry for more No it's not legend nor folklore So stressed that we can't function us the poor They want to profit off the misery And this time the line "i have a family" Won't stop them There are close to 8 billion people now We can't be valued as individuals pens Where would they start?how? In Germany during a world wide depression Stacks of money were used as firewood A rather puzzling expression I've come to find that we decide worth The beauty of a child's birth The oil and ore that we unearth The fancy paper Antique silk drapers To another that is trash To me that is cash I must get what I can while I have the will Us the poor we horde as we attempt to climb Up the hill Once we think we are fine we aren't I've come to find there's always a new problem Oh and they come in a variety of ways Oh they can stretch out upon days I stay up thinking as I lay Chanting the ole rain rain go away Sincerely, Marilyn M.
