I've Learned

Love is kind, sweet, and simple, At least that’s what they say. He says he will love me forever, but I’ve learned that promises are broken more often than not. Then they expect me to move on. Some things in life just have to be done, whether it is a trip to the doctors or moving on. It may not be the easiest thing, but they say it is essential. I may have thought that seclusion was the solution, but in reality, it’s not. I have to learn to make myself happy. People are unreliable. People will lie to my face, stab me in the back and throw me around like a rag doll. Standing up for myself is the hardest thing to do, but it doesn’t matter if others think I’m weird. How I feel inside is what really counts. I’ve learned there are more important things in life than having the best of everything. I wouldn’t trade a day with my nephew and sister for any fame or fortune.. Celebrities are overrated. My books and cats mean more to me than any worldly thing ever could. I would rather live in a cardboard box with the people I love than in a mansion with me, myself, and I. I've learned that being independent, that being myself, will make me happier relying on someone elses love.
