Ivy

I remember in fourth grade You liked me 'cuz we both weren't tall Five years since We've grown together like ivy on a wall ‍ But ivy can only grow as tall as its host I stretched as you stood rigid Through every gap until there was nowhere left to go ‍ So I wrapped around a tree It grew as I And so there I stayed ‍ You hugged me As if those years never happened Your embrace was like spending winter in a cabin Five years in reverse Your words, "I miss you" felt like a curse Your eyes tried to meet mine to embellish But if you love me Then be happy when I find love in someone else
