ivy

it wasn't until i saw her

that i had realized

that the life i had once had

was no longer the one i wanted

time with her

made me feel more mature

older in a sense

yet

her way of life

preserved my youth

and i found myself growing alongside it

and when i lost her

i learned that i had gained much more

than i had lost
