I’m in love with a ghost
I’m in love with a ghost,
The memory of us.
When you told me you were sick,
I felt my heart combust.
How could I possibly go on,
Without my other half.
And only see your smile
In a framed photograph.
You told me your a time bomb,
You said I should move on,
But I’m never leaving,
Not even when you’re gone.
If only time would freeze,
And a second last forever,
We could heal all the diseased,
And spend eternity together.
I watched you hide the pain,
And grow weaker everyday,
But you always forged a smile
and told us your okay.
I fall apart at home,
I won’t let you see me cry.
But I’ll never be ready,
For our fateful goodbye.
How could you leave me,
How can this be fair.
Why did life choose our cards,
To be filled with such despair.
Months turned to weeks,
Weeks into days,
It’s now our final moments,
The last breath you’ll ever take.
You look me in my eyes,
And tell me your not scared,
Your finally going home,
You say that you’ve prepared.
I take your hand in mine,
And wipe the tear off your face,
I cherish this moment,
For it’s our last embrace.
And as the your breaths grew harder,
And farther apart,
You tell me you’ll live on,
Forever in my heart.
