I’m a Mason Jar
I find myself asking “Why me?” so often
I feel this sense of emptiness as if I am Mason Jar.
Years ago I was full of happiness
Then life just dumped me out alone leaving only my thoughts.
I was left here to freeze, and only my memories remain in the empty husk of a glass.
My droplets are memories and it doesn't matter if they're good or bad
They’re still here in the brittle atmosphere and I ask myself why I can’t make them melt
I just want to feel warm and melt my depression out of my cold glass walls
The cold is now my life and my life will forever be cold.
The breeze of air feels as if pins and needles are slowly chipping at my enclosure.
They hit so hard and I should be bleeding out by now
And everyday the pressure gets harder and this load won’t hold back
Everyday is a new needle and everyday is a new droplet of aching memories
Everyday just seems to get harder and colder: memories amass on the edges of the glass
I am hollow but my memories grow, for they know I am claustrophobic
The vacant scene of memories displayed on these walls are expanding at my expense.
Now these memories solidify like cement and they are here forever
And though I am not, these droplets will follow me always.
I am a broken imbroglio of my past, present and future: my ill-fated glass has shattered
For I was just a Mason Jar
