I’m out
I’m out
It was a cold winter night,
I laid in bed with fright,
I didn’t know what to say,
I had to tell him some way,
He saw the comments,
All I could think of were the punishments,
Dad I like girls,
My head was going in swirls,
I cried so hard,
He broke my heart,
He said it’s Adam and Eve,
Not Eve and Eve or Steve and Steve,
I called my mom,
She was not calm,
She told me to pack my stuff,
It will be tough,
I found all the backpacks I could,
I wasn’t feeling too good,
I kept packing,
As my emotions started crashing,
I got up,
And grabbed my cup,
I drank some water,
I felt like the worst daughter,
I went back to packing,
I kept asking,
Why me?,
What does he not see?,
My tears kept coming down,
I felt like I was about to drown,
I cried so much I made a lake,
All I did was shake and break,
I had to throw up,
So I ran to the toilet closeup,
I was on my knees,
My chest hurt like a million pounds was on me,
No one knew what I was going through,
I just wanted to die but no one knew,
I felt like he didn’t want me there anymore,
So I emptied my drawers,
All the bags were stuffed,
I wasn’t enough and I felt unloved,
I cried some more,
And eventually walked out the door,
I’m sorry if I ever let you down,
I just wanted to leave this town,
All I did was frown,
I wish you would’ve stopped tearing me down,
A year and half past,
I didn’t have anything to ask,
We started to hang out,
He didn’t have much doubt,
I guess he just needed time,
To accept my sign,
When I turned seventeen,
I put on some sunscreen,
We were at the pool,
I felt so cruel,
I broke up with her,
I haven’t felt relieved in forever,
Everything then went upstream,
I was so happy eating ice cream,
When my girl met my dad,
I didn’t think it was too bad,
We are happier than a child at Disneyland,
And we already have our future planned,
He’s finally accepted me,
Which made us a happy family,
Look You’re not alone,
So pick up the phone,
Dial the number,
And talk to a helper.
