But I’m sorry

I’m sorry that I couldn’t make you happy

I’m sorry that I can’t make myself happy

I’m sorry that happiness isn’t a language I speak

But I loved you

I’m sorry if I pushed you away

I’m sorry if I let you push me away

I’m sorry I’m so good at pushing people away

But I miss you

I’m sorry I can’t let you go

I’m sorry that I can’t let go of how I feel

You see I’ve just been let go of too many times to reciprocate

But I free you

I’m sorry if I hurt you

I’m sorry I still cry over you

I’m sorry that I ruin everything I touch

But I’m happy for you

I'm a Grad student now studying Biochemistry and Biophysics (not sure how I got there). I guess I've been using this site for nearly 8 years now though sometimes I went years without writing much of anything. I write what I feel and I write what I need to let go of. Sometimes I write about a dream or a nightmare I had, If I can tell the difference. I fell in love for poetry in high school and continued to write in college. I hope to publish a book someday as well (leave a comment if a poem speaks to you). P.S. My Instagram is @CottonCandyPoems
