This Jack Found His Sally
Being ignored and pushed away from every girl you like really takes a toll on you
Just trying to be nice and treat them with respect just didn't work out so well
Maybe it was my lack of confidence?
Or maybe I just wasn't their type
I don't blame them though
Everyone has their standards
And I never gave up
Until one day I though about taking a break from looking
And then I found you
With your long, wavy dyed red hair
Cute pink glasses
And your beautiful smile that brightened my mornings in middle school
I didn't know what is was then, but I did know that you were special
You were unique
I tried to talk to you
But I would get too shy when you would turn my way
And I would do an awkward walk around or turn around
I would try and try again to work up the courage to at least say "Hi"
And maybe even to get you to notice me
Yet I never did and grade 7 went by too fast
It wasn't until Graduation from middle school until I saw you again
You were right in front of me when everyone was walking back to their parent's cars
And I pushed, shoved, and squeezed through the crowds to at least say one word to you
I couldn't make it in time...
I said "Have a great summer and thanks for making middle school mornings that much better"
That summer
I was so fed up
So tired of not standing up
And most importantly
I was dissapointed in myself that I couldn't even say one simple word to your face
And I promised myself that if I ever saw you again
That I would say something to you, no matter what
But i doubted that I would ever see you again
And the despair of that would slowly fill my heart for 2 long years
And then it happened
You had shorter hair
Back to your natural brown
New glasses yet still pink
And still had that smile
I kept my promise
We had lunch
We went on a first date
Held hands
Had our first kiss
First fights
First makeup from a fight
1 month
6 months
1 year
And now 2 years and 3 months of sharing each other's love
I may have went through hell emotionally from being shot down and by missing my chance with you at first
But I would go through it all again if I knew from the start
That I would get to share my heart with you
And finally get to find my Sally
Instead of being lonely ol' Jack
