Jacob

He is not a liar

or a faker

He is never weak,

but is always strong.

I remember when we first met,

it was the season of life.

It was like seeing the sun after a brutally gelid winter.

He is contemplative when there are decisions to make,

resilient when the outcomes go awry,

and dreams of the happy endings for everyone but himself.

I’ll never ask him to give up

but I think he’d say he would if it meant he could be with you.

His presence is air, you always need it.

I will always cherish
