To Jade
Beside piles of rocks she sits and watches
Men toil moving this to that
Beside her He sits and watches
Sands of an hourglass falling grain by grain
The men look up to whistle
Appreciation
A semblance of gratitude for a pretty face
Shedding a bit of its beauty
On a god forsaken place
But her eyes are polished stones of jade
Having rolled in their sockets for too long
Her necklace, chilled by the frigid air
Is warmer than the breast that it rests upon
From those lips that beg for gentle kisses
Escape sighs of an older man
And for a girl who only expresses wistfulness
There is very short demand
No man truly waits with the hope
Of taking her hand and spending
With her his time
No man will really spare a second glance
Or think of eternity of just her
No one, save for the One watching
Waiting as her every breath
Escapes her rising, falling chest
Brings her ever closer
