The Jaded Princess

Location

A time long ago,
Was a princess,
Who shared a name with a gem.

She wished for that gem,
And the most precious one of all,
For she and the gem were the same.

Everyone brought her gems,
But none were to her liking,
And all got thrown into the river.

She wished for that gem,
And the most precious one of all,
For she and the gem were the same.

A lady came covered in rags,
And she brought the most precious gem,
Calling it the "Jade of Truth."

She wished for that gem,
And the most precious one of all,
For she and the gem were the same.

The gem was beyond compare,
It doubled as a mirror,
And it should the true future.

She wished for that gem,
And the most precious one of all,
For she and the gem were the same.

The gem showed the princess as a selfish lady,
And she cried five tears wished turned to gems,
And she gave them to the lady.

She wished for that gem,
And the most precious one of all,
For she and the gem were the same.

The princess wished to wash away the old her,
And she became kind and giving,
And the gems in the river stayed where they were.
