Jailed.

Patria, dear motherland, you entice dictators, disowning me.

Now I live in exile, all my family too.

Hiding and running, always away from you.

Venezuela, but I loved you. Who corrupted you so?

You decided to let monster govern your bed and oath.

Hundreds are starving, thousands in jail.

Their crime was thinking different and the penalty a life of search.

We have no home, no country to go back to.

Last year there were protest, last year we had hope!

This year we are dying and all want to give up the cause.

Will I ever return to you Venezuela?
Will I ever see my country again?

Will my family find peace?

Will the others escape?

Now, I’m lost, I’m homeless.

My people die and our culture bleeds.

Will we survive the regime? Will someone help us return?

Now I live in exile, destined for fail.

More a refugee than a girl.

Last year I was striding for freedom, this year I may lose it all.

All I want to know is what it feels to be free and stop singing a sad song.
