Jake
His suffering brings me pain
Even though we’re not the same
But even in the daylight
We have the same refrain
Struggling to find the words
That make the days seem okay
But in the end we still pay
For the reality we face today
We may be miles away and zones apart
I still pray everyday for the pain to depart
For his hair to grow back and his smile to return
For his voice to be strong and his mind to be heard
Till he stands once again with strength in his heart
And hope in his eyes to be something to start
When the cards all fall and the hand is revealed
I hope to God he will fully be healed
