Jalousie Windows

Jeopardy is a flickering flame dancing
to the winds of a shady night of injustice.

Assented with callous hearts and malice
it severs lives and family ties with one smite.

Lured with greed’s empty promises
it weaves torment’s tapestry with one thread.

Ombre of jeopardy is a game played by three godless beings:
greed, ingratitude, and a dead conscience.

Usurping one’s rights is the objective of this game
with maim being just a score that makes one look lame.

Subverted by the tragedy of the situation topples one
down reality’s stairs like a mountain crumbling to ashes.

Indigent of compassion and many helping hands
one feels ashamed of being so helpless and pitiful.

Evoked by self preservation and doing what is right
one charges at jeopardy regardless of aftermaths.

Winced with the various forms of collateral damage
one tries to call for truce and a viable compromise.

Interjected with the aggressor's pride and desire to destroy
one retreats and regroups his/her thoughts for a steadier attack.

Nettled with the shamelessness of one’s foe
one drives bludgeons and stakes in their existence madly.

Dinned with the last words uttered by loved ones
one keeps going until this battle is won.

Offing foes that bring about jeopardy
should be enough to ward destructive people.

Wain is a pain that is so bright only to those
who have seen death so many times.

Sorry not sorry is a jalousie window overlooking
sorrow brought by jeopardy from toxic people.

Poetry is a form of passionate expression kindled by an impression unbound by public conviction. I write mainly from two genres : impressionism and symbolism. Choose me or leave me, I'm not a backup plan and definitely not a second choice! Not everyone likes me but then again not everyone matters. What matters is peace and the feeling of being content. Every person is a book, this is just the place to share some pages from my book. Peace!
