Janeicia

Neci,

My dear friend,

I wish you did not have to leave,

But I cling to the hope of one day seeing you again.

You were so beautiful,

And so kind.

You were so willful,

And had such a curious mind.

you always kept your head up,

Even through the storm.

You always said something like,

‘ what's up?’

With a familiar warmth.

Your life was so trying,

But it never made you bitter.
You comforted many babies crying,

And that is what I remember.

You were so smart,

And so brave.
You always loved to do art,

And you always behaved.

You shouldered so much,

Yet there was never a frown.
You could comfort with a friendly touch,

And you were so joyfully loud.

You had many siblings,

And they called you sister.
However,

All of your siblings

Could have called you mother.

You knew how to comfort others

In their times of need.
You were their mother,

And you always met their needs.

You were barely half my age,

But you had a mature mind.
I hope that you will one day take the world's stage,

And I always will know that you are kind.

You are so sweet,

So loving.
You are so neat,

So very touching.

I could say so much more,

My incredible, unique friend.
As you travel through life's many doors,

Please know that I will be with you beyond the end.
