The A of Jason
I had emerged from the A of Jason1
Where the sun is more friendly than the moon
Causing gleaming in a river basin
And extending those heated afternoons;
The gathering of loved ones is perfect
When we make memories with each other
Of laughter and love and life and respect
While the day’s warmth cannot help but smother;
The brief showcase of the vibrant crescent
Does not limit pleasantries of one’s plans
For that I am just an adolescent
And night to me is lovely whilst it spans
I am grateful for my timely dawning;
My life has left an absence of wanting.
1. The A of Jason is what I call the month that I was born in, August. The first letters of the months July, August, September, October, and November spell the name "Jason" when combined. This fact needed clarification since many readers were befuddled by the phrase, "The A of Jason."
