The Jaws of Life

There will be some bonds that cannot be

broken, a grapevine bend connecting

two inseparable entities.

But there will also be scissors

loppers to prune twigs

pruners to cut off branches

the Jaws of Life.

Any knot can be frayed

severed.

The strongest of ties cannot bear

the strongest of winds, no matter how hard

we try to disbelieve.

Some bonds will just be

broken.
