Jayuya
In my yucayeque I hear the call,
Echoing high where the green peaks roam.
The land has claimed my heart and all—
In the mountains of Borikén, my true home.
The journey to paradise is steep;
I fall and stumble, yet rise to my feet.
At last I stand beneath the skies,
As mountain winds my spirit greet.
The call of the coquí draws me near—
To my abuela’s house, where my heart finds home.
