Jellyfish
People think that she is a jellyfish.
She learned long ago to slow down
And go with the tide.
She decided that fresh water was too clean
And that she needed ocean silt to survive.
They say that she stings with good intentions
However, she often leaves a wake of destruction behind her.
She doesn't need eyes, no, because she taught herself
To test the waters with her whole body.
You can see right through her
She doesn't lie.
Perhaps there are more like her
Waiting in the tides.
She dresses in her own skin, perhaps to distract,
Perhaps to scare.
They watch in curiosity,
Anyways it's not for them.
The common woman is as common as the coldest tides.
