Jesus

My Mentor

I have had many tell me how to live my life.

I have had years of painful strife.

People I thought were good,

Didn’t treat me as they said they would.

I was in the dark,

Wounds made their mark.

I almost gave in

But then!

There was a voice

I made a choice

I left where I was

And I found unconditional love.

Someone who teaches me what is right,

And keeps away the dark at night.

All my chains were broken

When I was finally awoken by

My mentor
