jesus

i wept with you

how can you deny me now

do you remember

sitting in the corner

all alone

sobbing

face in hands

praying

that I would send someone over

to hug you

to talk

to pray

i answered you

i sent him

he told you

God is weeping with you

you knew I was

i cried your tears that night

you and me weeping

over your pain

you deny me now

you turn and run

to something better

i cannot stop you

nor for lack of power

i cannot forsake the beauty of the gospel

for the pain i feel over you

every other human

come back home

my son

there is a place for you here

you have fallen

i am here

come broken

come as you are

the door is always open

whoever you are

listen to me

i have loved you

whoever reads this

just as i have loved the author of this poem

i am approachable

try me and see

you reject me?

what have i done
