Jesus is Here to Stay
She was so small the day she was born
I rubbed until I heard a cry
Still wet and very warm
I wouldn't let her die
I came every day just to check
I held her with care
I loved her to heck
Her soft coat short and fair
She nibbled on my finger
Cuddled in my hand
She kept getting bigger
But She was like sand
Running through my fists
Running out of time
I gave her a final kiss
I thought she was fine
I found her barely breathing
I had to help any way I could
Her heart still beating
If I couldn't help I knew God would
I prayed
I begged him to help
I stayed
She gave a painful yelp
He told me to put her down
I listened with a growing pain inside
She looked at me with her big brown eyes
As if she was begging for me to take away the pain
The look of pain and suffering
I was going insane
Having to sit and listen to her cry
Not being able to touch her
I kept yelling why
No comfort came
She screamed a curdling scream of suffering
Then took her last breath in front of me
I sat and said nothing
I don't think I could ever see
Why would God do this to me
I heard booming through my mind
Pick her up the deed is done
There was no comfort I could find
I picked her up though I wanted to run
I screamed why God
She was special
Why couldn't I comfort her
Why did it have to end
All she wanted was love in her final moments
A little love and a friend
I had to put her down and be disconnected
While I watched her suffer
Why couldn't we have reconnected
While she still had that glimmer
He said in a melancholy voice
My son was special
But I had no choice
We were separated by the sin of the world
But his cries I still heard
Then he told me to take her to the woods
Dig a grave and put a large stone on it
I did as he said and then I stood
Wondering why I’m still here if Jesus was so good
Three days later it was easter day
In a dream my precious midnight came to me
Gave me a lick on the hand
And headed towards a luscious land
Though it pains me to say
I understand why it happened in this way
Though my baby isn't here today
Jesus is here to stay
