Jie Jie

My sister is a silver screen starlet
Impossibly far away
and a stranger despite familiarity.
She is a spectacle,
nothing more than whispers.
Her decisions are her own,
but judgement still rules her.
Applause gives her life,
but the pressure will crush her.
She mirrors those before her
and those who follow her
will be no different.
