John

I remember the first time

I saw those eyes—

It was like jumping

off a cliff into

green and blue rushing water.

The current pulled me in.

That refreshing sense.

Those eyes—

They were the first eyes

I ever fell for.

Sometimes whem I’m empty

I think of them

and the times they were

so

damn

close

and—I just float.
