Johnny
Nobody knew he would one day mean so much to us.
We thought he would come and go
But he stayed,
And he stayed,
And he loved us, so we loved him,
And he ate, so we ate with him,
And he laughed, so we laughed with him,
And he cared, so we cared for him.
The world was filled with negativity, and sometimes so were we.
He had put up with it his whole life, 'til finally...
He gave up and passed,
He lay still and we cried,
He lay breathless and we breathed,
He lay cold and we tried to warm him up,
He lay still and we sat uncomfortably because there was something in this world...
It was him.
He was the difference.
He was the missing piece.
He is the one we still hope will wake up one day and run to the restroom and spend what seems like forever in there.
We hope he will get dressed for one more day of work.
We hope he will eat one more meal with us, tell us one more joke, give us one more life lesson.
"Johnny I need you, please wake up!" screamed my grandma.
"Johnny wake up!" yelled my mom.
"Johnny please come back!" I screamed.
"Johnny..." my brother said.
"Johnny I miss you." said my little brother.
"I love you Johnny." my little sister mumbled behind her tears.
We still miss you Johnny.
