THE JOURNEY

What if I told you, that we are never where we are in terms of position?
What if I told you, that we are always constantly in motion?
I’m not talking about things physical, like trips to a cafe or church for long devotions
But the journey we are taking to our final destination

I know what you’re thinking “this has all been preached before”
God loved the world that he gave up his son
Heaven is only real to those who are pure
That we can never be saved without obeying his laws

But one thing that was ignored in all the preaching and sermons
The course that we’re failing because we lack a mentor
The race we’re trailing last, ‘because we were never prepared for
The journey that’s in place that we were never aware of

We were put in a nice car and told go on “it’s your journey”
Full tank, cleaned rims, road cleared out for me
Thinking that we finally felt what eagles feel like soaring
Little did we know that we were actually falling.

Now this is where it gets interesting
God let us start alone so we might learn a few lessons
Giving us freedom in addition to a blessing
Repentance and forgiveness just like it was written in his message

Well it won’t be a journey without a couple wrong turns
Yeah you might fall off the train but when you do brush it off and get back on
We all know some beautiful paths can't be discovered without getting lost.
Because in the end we get to the destination not as saints but as sons

The destination is heaven; I see you were all expecting it
Well why wouldn’t you when it was written as our destiny
Well I’m sure that I’ll arrive because that G.P.S is guiding me
God’s positioning system, possibilities infinity.
