JOURNEY
It all starts from a simple question,
It all starts from a single thought,
She knows there will be obstacles,
How difficult could this one be?
She knows it will hurt to leave them all,
It all started when she got in the car
From the time she saw her grandma’s eyes
filled with tears asking her not to leave
But, she couldn’t get the words out,
She wanted the best for her,
It all starts from her “tia’s” words and
the question that hunts her thoughts:
“You know that I love you, right?”
She can’t forget her great-grandfather's gesture
and his words: “take this coin, it will be helpful”
It was helpful ,
It taught her how much they love her,
It was helpful,
It opened her eyes,
It all starts when she waves goodbye from the distance
When she enters a car packed with strangers,
With faces that are unfamiliar,
She just hopes God will protect her,
She can’t get the tears out,
But from the inside she sobs, screams and cries in desperation,
Her heart is melt down with blood tears,
She loves them all,
She wants them to see her love,
She hopes to go back to the place that saw her grow,
The place where she discovered love,
The place where many adventures began,
The place that saw her cry,
The place that conforted her every time,
The place where summers smell like watermelons,
The place where “punches en aiguaste” was served,
The place where she worked “en la marañonera”
The place where she left her childhood,
The place where she belongs,
The place where her soul will always be.
