JOURNEY

I have experienced flight

Wings gave me strength

Opportunities floated in the blue sky

I reached

I walked through fire

Temptations beckoned me

So sweet, so coveted

I burned

I sacrificed moments

Time shredded to accommodate

Slammed doors that left a painful mark

I trembled

I embraced my darkness

Inhaled my light

Allowed wind to whip and tear

I lived

I witnessed my limits

Tore open my possibilities

Crawled through despair and sorrow

I achieved

I tasted defeat

Drowned in frustration

Destroyed my beyond

I persisted

I touched upon the light

Grabbed onto my star

Gloried in victory

I thrived
