I left you by the riverbed

In a place where none can see

I'll never forget what you said

as I watched you drift out to sea

We began our journey together

tethered by our fates

Like broken wings and fallen feathers

We took to earth beyond the gates

Beneath the light we traveled

crossing star to star

Moonlit secrets unraveled

Learning how to mend the scars

Our starry path descended

and landed upon the Nile

We walked until we transcended

yet death was near every mile

I held you while you were dying

Giving our last goodbyes

Didn't waist a moment crying

To stare into your eyes

I'll remember what you said

and my smile shall never quiver

I'm filled with happiness instead

Traveling alone upon this river
