A Journey to Remember

The effort of life might not be worth it.

If I stay as I am now-

Never change-

My good innocence remains. I cannot just

Believe that

The trials of this world help me grow; See, I don’t think I can

Trust those who think

I should try to accidentally

Jerk my hands the wrong way on the steering wheel… 

Fall in love with the wrong person,

Accept someone different than me,

I might be betrayed by a friend,

Change my wish for the future… In the process,

Now, I’m realizing that I’ll

Always be your little girl.

But I’m afraid to try to

Avoid when the real world strikes for the first time.

Aloneness- something I want to

Make sure I stay away from

(But I will be on my own one day).

And I wish it could stay this way forever- me under your protection.

I feel like this is something I need to remember.
